SKRODERDIENAS SILMAČOS is a three-act stage production in Valmiera at Valmieras teātris Lielā zāle from 12 to 20 June 2027. Directed by Elmārs Seņkovs, the production approaches Rūdolfs Blaumanis’ play with a fresh perspective, questioning the familiar stereotypes built up around this Latvian classic. Live music is part of the performance. The cast includes Anna Nele Āboliņa, Rihards Jakovels, Sandis Runge, Ģertrūde Rubins, Ieva Estere Barkāne, Kārlis Freimanis, Kristaps Ozols, Artis Jančevskis, Klinta Reinholde, Māra Mennika, Elīna Vāne, Ieva Puķe, Aigars Apinis and others. As in Silmači during the Midsummer celebrations, the stove will explode and bees will attack.
