“Līgavu mednieki” is a play in Riga at Nacionālais teātris Lielā zāle, running from 10 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. With humour and gentle self-irony, the production returns to the period of early independent Latvia, when wealthy Latvian businessmen hosted lavish balls for their children. At these gatherings, young Latvian men searched for brides who were beautiful, virtuous and endowed with a respectable dowry. The play was written by Anšlavs Eglītis and is directed by Paula Pļavniece. The cast includes Egons Dombrovskis, Daiga Gaismiņa, Raimonds Celms, Laura Siliņa, Jana Ļisova, Pauls Jēkabs Eldridžs or Gustavs Švēdenbergs, Matīss Kučinskis, Igors Šelegovskis and other actors. The venue is at Kronvalda bulvāris 2, Riga.
