Rotko muzeja krājuma izstāde “Tuvplāns: dvēsele” is an art exhibition in Daugavpils at the Rothko Museum, Mihaila iela 3, on 1 October 2026. The exhibition approaches the museum collection as a space of cultural memory, where a person is both an art object and a subject. Alongside the portrait as a multilayered construction of identity, it explores traumatic memory, subjective experience and the depths of the subconscious through figurative art, abstraction and conceptual works. The exhibits draw conceptual and philosophical parallels with Mark Rothko’s artistic legacy. For the first time in a Rothko Museum collection exhibition, regional cultural-history values from the Daugavpils Museum art collection are presented in dialogue with contemporary art.
