Izstāde “Gaismas un ēnas. Īvs Brajērs un mūsdienu Francijas māksla” is an exhibition in Daugavpils at the Rothko Museum, Mihaila iela 3, on 10 September 2026. Its core is formed by works by Yves Brayer created in Mediterranean countries, focusing on human presence in space and time rather than outward drama. Composition, rhythm, light and darkness shape the paintings as strongly as their subjects. The contemporary section brings together works by seven artists from modern France in dialogue with Brayer’s art, addressing war and peace, human vulnerability, memory, fragile freedom and the role of light in a tense and uncertain world.
