The play “MAZĀS LAPSAS”, based on Liliana Hellman’s legendary drama, will be staged at Jaunais Rīgas teātris, Great Hall, in Riga (Lāčplēša iela 25) from 18 September to 11 December 2026. This classic of American theatre explores psychological intricacies, family conflicts, love, and money—drawing comparisons to Ibsen and Chekhov. Directed by Kristīne Krūze, scenography by Alvis Hermanis, the cast features Andris Keišs, Gundars Āboliņš, Sandra Kļaviņa, Jana Čivžele, among others. The performance lasts 3 hours and 15 minutes in three acts. The production has gained two “Spēlmaņu nakts” nominations for the 2024/2025 theatre season.
