"LAI DIEVS STĀV TEV KLĀT, TU, NABAGA CIETĒJ!" is a play by Martin McDonagh, staged in Riga at the New Riga Theatre's Main Hall from September 15 to December 8, 2026. The plot is rooted in real historical events: after the abolition of capital punishment in England in 1965, executioners were suddenly left without work. This dark comedy invites viewers to unravel for themselves who is truly guilty. The performance lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes, presented in two acts. Directed by Alvis Hermanis, with set and costume design by Kristīne Jurjāne and lighting by Lauris Johansons. The cast features Andris Keišs, Baiba Broka, Gundars Āboliņš, Kaspars Znotiņš and others.
