BURVJU KALNS is a theatre performance in Valmiera at Valmiera Theatre’s Great Hall, taking place from 28 to 29 November 2026. The production is based on the novel of the same name by German classic author and Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Thomas Mann. The story follows aspiring engineer Hans Castorp, who arrives at the “Berghof” sanatorium in Switzerland and becomes caught in a story of love, a clash between two civilisations and Europe’s fate on the eve of war. Directed by Toms Treinis, with dramaturgy by Justīne Kļava and scenography by Kristaps Kramiņš. The cast includes Aksels Aizkalns, Artis Jančevskis, Eduards Johansons, Tālivaldis Lasmanis, Mārtiņš Liepa, Māra Mennika, Inese Ramute and others. Address: Lāčplēša Street 4, Valmiera.
