ŠAUBAS is a psychological drama in Valmiera at Valmiera Theatre from 17 November 2026 to 7 January 2027. The play is staged in the theatre’s Apaļā zāle at Lāčplēša iela 4. Directed by Toms Treinis, the production is based on a work by John Patrick Shanley. At its centre is Sister Aloīzija, a Catholic school principal who becomes suspicious of the school priest without concrete evidence. The cast includes Krišjānis Strods, Māra Mennika, Diāna Krista Stafecka and Ieva Puķe. The play explores doubt’s effect on relationships, difficult choices and the search for truth. It is performed in Latvian, with translation by Laura Romanovska.
