Valmieras teātra viesizrāde ČĒRČILS is a theatre production in Riga at Dailes Theatre’s Great Hall, taking place on 5–6 February 2027. Ronald Keaton’s play “Churchill” presents a two-part self-portrait of Winston Churchill, combining historically significant events with intimate memories and a glimpse into the statesman’s inner world. Tālivaldis Lasmanis plays Churchill, with Reinis Suhanovs directing. The creative team also includes video artist Anna Konovalova, costume artist Ilze Vītoliņa, composer Arvīds Saulītis and translator Laura Romanovska. The production is in Latvian with English subtitles. The subtitles are easiest to see from row 8. The performance explores Churchill’s later life, old age, political achievements and the individual’s role during global geopolitical change.
