PĪĻU MEDĪBAS is an existential drama in Daugavpils at the Daugavpils Theatre Great Hall from 20 November 2026 to 19 January 2027. Based on Aleksandr Vampilov’s play, the production follows Zilov, a man who appears to have work, a new apartment, friends and a loving wife, yet feels unfulfilled in every area of life. His dream of a successful duck hunt cannot fill the growing emptiness, while the delivery of his own funeral wreath makes avoiding the truth impossible. The performance lasts three hours across two acts and is recommended for audiences aged 16 and over. It is performed in Russian with Latvian subtitles.
