Howard Roark is a determined young architect who chooses to work in a stone quarry instead of enjoying the comfort of an architect's office. His life takes a turn when Dominique Francon, the beloved of his rival Peter Keating and daughter of the quarry owner, becomes fascinated by him. An intense obsession develops between Roark and Dominique, leading to complex, fatalistic relationships. Although they belong to different worlds, both are driven by fate. Dominique cannot decide whether to love Roark or destroy him to avoid suffering. The situation becomes even more complicated when Dominique decides to be with media magnate Wynand to help Keating achieve an important commission. When Wynand proposes, it becomes even more tangled, as Roark and Wynand become close friends. The performance is in Latvian with English surtitles. Author – Ayn Rand. Directed by Viesturs Kairišs.
