ĪSTI RIETUMI is a play by Sam Shepard in Riga at Dailes teātris Lielā zāle from 4 October to 10 December 2026. The performance is in Latvian with English surtitles; for easier reading, seats from rows 8–14 are recommended. Two brothers meet in their mother’s empty house on the outskirts of Los Angeles: Austin is a hardworking screenwriter on the verge of Hollywood success, while Lee lives on the margins of society. Their competing ideas for a screenplay turn the American dream into a darkly humorous duel over ambition, relationships and dreams. The cast includes Toms Veličko, Niklāvs Kurpnieks, Vita Vārpiņa and Lauris Subatnieks. Directed by Mateusz Staniak and co-produced by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
