The concert “Gadumijas koncerts. Papardes zieds ziemas naktī” takes place in Riga at the Nacionālais teātris Lielā zāle from 10 to 30 December 2026. The programme has two parts. The first evokes winter as a time of returning home, reconnecting with one’s roots, warmth and safety, as well as dark evenings and slightly eerie stories. Valts Pūce’s music and Nora Ikstena’s fairy tales for adults bring together folk elements and the Baroque. The second part becomes a New Year’s Eve party with three tuxedo-clad hosts, a magic wand, confetti and champagne. Directed by Marija Bērziņa. The performers are Maija Doveika, Daiga Gaismiņa, Elza Rūta Jordāne, Sanita Paula, Līga Zeļģe, Ainārs Ančevskis, Mārtiņš Brūveris, Egons Dombrovskis, Juris Hiršs, Normunds Laizāns, Mārcis Maņjakovs, Egils Melbārdis, Uldis Siliņš and Voldemārs Šoriņš. Address: Kronvalda bulvāris 2, Riga.
