“Bastardi” is a play in Riga at the National Theatre from 11 November to 4 December 2026. It follows 11th-grade boys at an elite school: confused dreamers ready to fall in love, cross boundaries and break rules, but not always prepared to take responsibility for their actions. They believe prestigious foreign universities will help them achieve everything. A new teacher tries to reshape their values and ideas about life through art and freedom. The play is written by Kārlis Vērdiņš and Matīss Kaža and directed by Matīss Kaža. The cast includes Matīss Kučinskis, Emīls Ralfs Zagorskis, Rūdolfs Sprukulis, Uldis Siliņš, Santa Breikša or Dita Apsīte, Igors Šelegovskis, Juris Lisners and Uldis Anže.
