The production "ČETRI BALTI KREKLI" is a psychological drama staged at Valmieras teātris Jaunā zāle in Valmiera from 13 September to 29 November 2026. Directed by Jānis Znotiņš, with set design by Pamela Butāne and costumes by Ilze Vītoliņa, the play explores the complex relationship between art and authority. The central conflict arises between songwriter Cēzars Kalniņš and culture committee member Anita Sondore over issues of song censorship. The performance features songs by Imants Kalniņš from the film "Elpojiet dziļi." The new theatre season at Lāčplēša iela 4 also marks a return to the restored venue. Aimed at audiences aged 16 and above, the performance focuses on generational and ideological conflicts.
