“ČETRI BALTI KREKLI” is a psychological drama in three parts in Valmiera, at Valmieras teātris Jaunā zāle, running from 28 November 2026 to 12 January 2027. Directed by Jānis Znotiņš, the production features set design by Pamela Butāne, costumes by Ilze Vītoliņa, choreography by Agate Bankava and music by Rihards Zelezņevs. Based on Gunārs Priede’s play “Trīspadsmitā”, it follows songwriter Cēzars Kalniņš as he comes into conflict with culture committee member Anita Sondore, who demands that his songs be censored. Bella is also drawn into the clash, choosing to live by her own rules. The play explores art and authority, generational conflict and opposing viewpoints. It includes songs by Imants Kalniņš from the film “Elpojiet dziļi” (“Četri balti krekli”). Recommended for audiences aged 16 and over. Address: Lāčplēša iela 4, Valmiera.
