The ballet "Pie zilās Donavas" is a romantic ballet staged at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet in Riga from 20 September 2026 to 23 May 2027. Inspired by the music of waltz king Johann Strauss, this ballet explores the choice between love and the stage, dreams and reality. Premiered in Riga in 1957, it has become part of Latvian ballet's golden heritage through several revivals. This new production also marks the 110th anniversary of its producer, Helēna Tangijeva-Birzniece. Visitors can experience classical ballet tradition in a historic venue.
