APBRĪNAS IELEJA is a theatre performance in Riga at Jaunais Rīgas teātris, Lielā zāle, running from 23 September to 23 December 2026. Inspired by the play "The Valley of Astonishment" by Peter Brook, Marie-Hélène Estienne and Alexander Luria, the production explores the unusual nature of the human brain, extraordinary forms of memory and synesthesia — when words can be seen in colours and music can be tasted. It brings together Sufi mythology, musicality and research into this phenomenon, while paying tribute to Peter Brook on his centenary. Directed by Matīss Kaža, the performance features Guna Zariņa, Vilis Daudziņš and Gerds Lapoška. Running time is 1 hour 35 minutes, with no interval.
