“SPĪTNIECES SAVALDĪŠANA” is a comedy by William Shakespeare in Liepāja, presented from 4 to 12 December 2026 at the Great Hall of Liepājas koncertzāle LIELAIS DZINTARS, Radio iela 8. The production is directed by Nellija Spūle. The play follows Katarina, who must marry before her younger sister Bianca can wed, and Petruchio, hired to court the famously headstrong woman by any means he considers necessary. This interpretation examines the roles men and women play, and asks whether relationships are shaped by power, survival or the pursuit of harmony. The cast includes Polina Čerņenoka, Gatis Maliks, Dārta Cīrule, Kārlis Ērglis and Alise Dzene. Set design is by Marta Madara Grantiņa; music by Toms Auniņš; dramaturgy by Diāna Kondraša; lighting by Ēriks Gertners. The premiere is scheduled for 4 December.
