"Latvieši. Izrādes ieraksts" is a socially critical theatre production taking place on 29 January 2027 at the National Theatre's Great Hall in Riga. The play is based on the perspective of Baltic German intellectual Garlieb Merkel, who viewed Latvians as uneducated and impoverished. Playwright Justīne Kļava and director Toms Treinis explore—sometimes ironically—whether these historical stereotypes were ever true or if they persist today.
