Fairy-tale princes and princesses, good and evil fairies, and other magical characters from beloved childhood stories come to life in a ballet with music by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The production invites the audience to believe in the dream of true love that conquers all. Choreographer Aivars Leimanis highlights that "The Sleeping Beauty" is a standard of classical ballet, requiring impeccable style and refined positions from its dancers. The staging preserves Marius Petipa's original choreography, complemented by new dances adapted for the Latvian National Ballet troupe. The role of Princess Aurora is noted as one of the most challenging female roles in ballet.
