This ballet production presents both a 20th-century ballet classic and a contemporary choreography masterwork in one evening. Jerome Robbins' ballet "The Concert (or, The Perils of Everybody)" is a comic parody of classical music audiences, set during a Frédéric Chopin piano concert where fantasy characters come to life, revealing human flaws and imagination. Alexander Ekman's contemporary ballet "Cacti" focuses on art criticism and the right of each viewer to interpret art individually. The performance features string quartet music by Franz Joseph Haydn, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Franz Schubert.
