This ballet production invites the audience to experience both 20th-century ballet classics and contemporary choreography in one evening. Jerome Robbins' ballet "The Concert (or The Perils of Everybody)" (1956) is a comical parody of classical music concertgoers, set during a Frédéric Chopin piano concert that draws the audience into a world of imagination. Swedish choreographer Alexander Ekman's contemporary ballet "Cacti" focuses on art criticism and the personal interpretation of art, featuring music by Haydn, Beethoven, and Schubert performed by a string quartet.
