The ballet "Don Quixote" will be performed at the Latvian National Opera and Ballet in Riga from 23 October 2026 to 14 March 2027. This production features a naively optimistic plot that differs significantly from the novel by Miguel de Cervantes. Its continued popularity is owed to expressive dance, a vibrant theatrical style, carnival ambiance, and fiery Spanish-inspired choreography. The influence of Moscow, where the ballet was originally created, remains evident in the production’s visuals and music. Critics highlighted its lavishness, theatrical atmosphere, and the virtuosity of the dances as elements that create a captivating stage experience.
