The monologue performance “APJUKUŠAIS BĀRNS” is a theatre production in Riga at Merķeļa iela 4, running from 3 November 2026 to 20 January 2027. Jānis Kronis’s personal expedition across Latgale becomes an investigation into identity and the question of what it means to be Latgalian. Performed in the Latgalian language, the production draws on documented events from the expedition and encounters with people along the way. Audiences follow the author’s journey through everyday Latgalian life, self-understanding and attempts to define belonging. The performance is intended for adults.
