The music theatre production "Alfas" takes place at Dirty Deal teātris in Riga from 26 October to 22 November 2026. Inspired by real events in Jēkabpils in January 2011, this performance tells the story of an armed robbery involving police officers and a civilian that escalated into a tragedy, resulting in the death of a police officer. Through a dramatic and musical format, the show explores the notions of masculinity, heroism, and decisiveness in Latvian society, prompting audiences to reflect on the expectations and roles of men, especially after the financial crisis. Composer: Edgars Raginskis; libretto: Jānis Balodis; director: Valters Sīlis. Note: The show contains gunshot sounds and strong language, with photographs from LETA. Performed in Latvian.
