“THE GRAND NIGHT | Operetes Jaungada koncerts”
THE GRAND NIGHT | Operetes Jaungada koncerts is a music event in Jūrmala, Rīga and Ventspils from 16 to 30 December 2026, taking place at several venues. Dzintaru Concert Hall, the Great Hall of the University of Latvia, Ventspils Theatre House “Jūras vārti” and the Ziedoņa Hall of the National Library of Latvia will host waltzes, arias, duets and ensembles, as well as opera and musical theatre excerpts. The programme features melodies by Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kálmán, Franz Lehár and Charles Lecocq from Silva, The Csárdás Princess, The Merry Widow, Giuditta and One Hundred Virgins. Soloists, dancers and a symphony orchestra conducted by Atvars Lakstīgala will perform. The evening also includes theatrical episodes, witty dialogue, costumes, scenography and multimedia elements. The creative team includes choreographer and dancer Ieva Kemlere, scenographer Ineta Sipunova and host Agija Ozoliņa-Kozlovska.
