“Rakstainu cimdu adīšana” is a masterclass in Daugavpils at Daugavpils Vienības nams, Tradīciju māja (entrance from Saules Street), on 31 October 2026. Master knitter Lāsma Šembela will share her knowledge, experience and practical advice on knitting Latvian patterned mittens. Participants will explore pattern-making principles, colour combinations and knitting techniques. The masterclass is suitable both for people who already knit and for those who want to discover the world of patterned mittens and try something new. Bring knitting needles size 1.5; yarn for the masterclass is provided. The event will take place in a creative atmosphere and will be photographed and filmed for publicity and historical purposes.
