
Exhibition “Rūdolfs Heimrāts 100. Legacy”
The exhibition presents the multifaceted creative legacy of Rūdolfs Heimrāts, highlighting his significant contribution to Latvian textile art in the second half of the 20th century. Visitors can discover tapestries, decorative textiles, ceramics, and fabric print designs from various museum collections, along with unrealized projects from the family archive. Audiovisual documents from the Latvian State Archives showcase the artist, his family, students, participation in international events, and footage of lost interiors. Special attention is given to Heimrāts’ collaborations with architects and his contributions to interior design. The artist’s work is grouped into themes such as love for homeland, appreciation of nature, folk celebrations, and the evolution of textile art from classical to contemporary and experimental forms.
