Paula Rietuma fotoizstāde is an exhibition of large-format photographs in Liepāja city from 1 May to 30 September 2027. Architect and photographer Pauls Rietums travelled to Kyoto as part of the residency project “Japāna eiropiešu acīs | Japāna šodien”, documenting the city’s last refuges amid the tourist crowds. Here, boredom becomes an artistic method and a strategy for surviving the rapid pace of contemporary life. Presented in Liepāja’s urban environment, the photographs invite visitors to appreciate the open spaces of our shared surroundings.
