The opera-performance “Sun & Sea” takes place at the Great Amber Concert Hall in Liepāja in April 2027. This internationally acclaimed production, which won the Golden Lion at the Venice Art Biennale, will be shown in Latvia for the first time. Created by Rugilė Barzdžiukaitė, Vaiva Grainytė, and Lina Lapelytė, the work blends performance, visual art, and music, set on an artificial beach where soloists sing about climate crisis, consumption, and society. Presented as part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme.
