

The music-theatre performance “MŪŽĪBAS SKARTIE | Patriotiski muzikāla mistērija, stāsts par Brīvības cīņām” is a theatre and music event at the National Library of Latvia Ziedonis Hall in Riga on 12 November 2026. The event opens with a presentation by Dr. Antra Medne about Aleksandrs Čaks’ poetry cycle “Mūžības skartie”, recognized in the Latvian cultural canon. The performance is created by Aleksandrs Čaks, Jānis Lūsēns and Mārtiņš Vilsons, with performances by actor Mārtiņš Vilsons, composer Jānis Lūsēns and musician Evija Mundeciema-Lūsēna. The story explores Latvian riflemen’s heroism and the cost of independence. The single-act show is in Latvian, lasts 1 hour 20 minutes, and is recommended for grades 9 to 12. It is included in the School Bag programme.
