The dramatic play “Meistarklase” is staged at Dzintaru Concert Hall Great Hall in Jūrmala from 23 October 2026 to 27 February 2027. Written by American playwright Terrence McNally, this work offers an insight into the world of legendary opera diva Maria Callas, focusing on her master classes at Juilliard in the early 1970s. The story explores Callas's interactions with young singers and intertwines these moments with her own memories of triumph, loneliness, and love. The role of Maria Callas is played by Sonora Vaice, an acclaimed Latvian opera singer making her debut in dramatic theatre. The creative team includes director Sonora Vaice, scenographer Ineta Sipunova, costume consultant Kristīne Pasternaka, and lighting designer Ivars Vācars. The production lasts 2 hours.
