Muzikāla drāma "Grāfs Monte-Kristo. Esmu Edmons Dantess" takes place in Riga at the Mikhail Chekhov Riga Russian Theatre on 7 December 2026. The performance tells a story of love, betrayal and retribution. Young sailor Edmond Dantes returns to Marseille with hopes of becoming a captain and building a future with his bride, but envy, meanness and fear stand in his way. Twenty-four years later, the mysterious Count of Monte Cristo appears in Paris to take revenge on those responsible. The performance is in Russian with Latvian and English surtitles. Directed by Sergey Golomazov, with music by Lora Kvint and a libretto by Nikolay Denisov. Based on Alexandre Dumas’s novel. Address: 16 Kaļķu Street.
