Izstāde "Šķetinātāji. Tekstila manifests" is an exhibition in Riga at the Art Academy of Latvia, Kalpaka bulvāris 13, running from 23 October to 20 November 2026. It presents textile as a diverse and contemporary artistic medium through which artists speak about personal experience, questions relevant to society and events taking place in the world. The exhibition explores the connection between material, technique and idea, while also offering insight into the present-day Textile specialisation at the Art Academy of Latvia and its development. It marks 65 years since textile education began at the Academy and the centenary of its founder, Rūdolfs Heimrāts, highlighting the continuity and evolving character of Latvia’s textile art tradition. Open Monday to Friday, 10:00–18:00, with a break from 14:30 to 15:00.
