The concert “Sinfonietta Rīga un Žans Gijēns Keirass. Sensānsa čellkoncerts un Forē Elēģija” takes place at the Great Hall of the University of Latvia in Riga on 28 November 2026. French cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras will perform with chamber orchestra Sinfonietta Rīga, under the baton of conductor Olari Elts. The programme features works by French composers Camille Saint-Saëns and Gabriel Fauré, including the First Cello Concerto, Elegie for cello and orchestra, as well as Adagio and Marche – Scherzo from Saint-Saëns’ symphonies. The evening will also present Thierry Escaich’s piece “Erinnerung”. The concert brings together the refined lyricism of French romanticism and a contemporary French composer’s interpretation.
