The production “Sibīrijas haiku” is a visually poetic and technologically refined paper animation show, taking place at the Latvian Puppet Theatre Small Hall in Riga from 10 to 13 November 2026. Based on the award-winning Lithuanian graphic novel by Jurga Vile and Lina Itagaki, the play follows the deportation experience of a young Lithuanian boy, Algis, and his family to Siberia. Directed by Valters Sīlis, the creative team offers a nuanced and emotional story for audiences aged 10 and up, exploring the deportations in the Baltic states from a child's viewpoint. The team includes stage artist Uģis Bērziņš, composer Gatis Krievāns, as well as visual and lighting artists and talented actors. Attendance is subject to the puppet theatre's house rules.
