Roberta Rūrāna izstāde “Isildura lāsts” is an art exhibition in Jūrmala at Aspazijas māja, Z. Meierovica prospekts 18/20, from 9 October 2026 to 16 January 2027. This series by artist and illustrator Roberts Rūrāns draws on J. R. R. Tolkien’s world of The Lord of the Rings to explore the enduring struggle between good and evil and the choices made within us. At its centre is an inner conflict between the desire for wisdom and goodness and the temptation to surrender to weakness, linked to Plato’s chariot allegory. The dilemma also echoes Frodo’s journey, suggesting that seemingly small acts of kindness can have far-reaching consequences. Rūrāns works in acrylic, combining influences from contemporary minimalism, modernism and the aesthetics and symbolism of medieval Christian art. He graduated from the Graphic Arts Department of the Art Academy of Latvia and is a co-founder of the design studio “Overpriced”.
