Belgian director Lisaboa Houbrechts blends dramatic theatre and opera in her interpretation of Hermann Hesse's novel "Siddhartha". The production explores the spiritual journey of a young Brahmin seeking enlightenment in India and the quest for self-understanding in the material world. The director describes the performance as an exercise in selflessness—an attempt to detach from achievements and ambitions, opening oneself to the search for true essence. The show brings together artists from Belgium, Venezuela, the Netherlands, India, and Latvia, along with American composer Caroline Shaw. Actress Milēna Miškēviča from Dailes Theatre and the Latvian Radio Choir, led by conductor Kaspars Putniņš, participate in the performance. The show is in English with Latvian subtitles.
