MEŽA PĪLE is Henrik Ibsen’s play and the 10th-course diploma production of Dailes Theatre in Riga, at Dailes Theatre, from 12 to 13 November 2026. The production uses Solveiga Elsberga’s translation from Norwegian. The peaceful world of the Ekdal family changes when Hjalmar’s childhood friend Gregers decides to reveal the past and restore justice. As more truth comes to light, the family’s imagined unity grows increasingly fragile. The production is created by Dailes Theatre’s 10th acting studio, led by actress Ieva Segliņa and directed by Viesturs Kairišs. Sixteen acting-studio members appear in the cast. This emotionally powerful and philosophically layered story explores the desire to believe, hope and protect oneself from reality.
