The production "MĒDEJA" is a one-part tragedy performed in Valmiera at KURTUVE, the contemporary art space, from 10 September to 23 October 2026. Directed by Reinis Suhanovs, this adaptation of Euripides’ ancient myth tells the story of a woman leaving everything behind for her husband and facing extreme passions and difficult existential questions. The cast features Māra Mennika, Anna Nele Āboliņa, Kārlis Freimanis, and others. The creative team includes set and costume designer Monika Korpa, choreographer Linda Mīļā, lighting designer Oskars Pauliņš, and composer Jēkabs Nīmanis. This production is part of the Valmiera Theatre’s collaboration with the Boris and Ināra Teterev Foundation.
