The play “Margarēta” by Māra Zālīte, staged by Jelgava New Theatre, will take place in Jelgava at Kultūras nams ROTA from 24 to 25 October 2026. This chamber performance is inspired by motifs from Goethe's “Faust” and stars Indra Soika Dreimane, Īvs Zvejs, and Jevgenijs Džeriņš under the direction of Juris Bandenieks. The story delves into themes of guilt, sacrifice, and inner transformation, as an advocate seeks to untangle past events and offers a dramatic exploration of relationships. The production is supported by Jelgava municipality and is performed in Latvian.
