
Exhibition "Birkerts. Libraries. Light."
This exhibition, dedicated to the centenary of architect Gunārs Birkerts (1925–2017), explores his life and creative achievements. Special focus is given to libraries designed by Birkerts—on display are 19 library projects, including the National Library of Latvia and 18 libraries in the USA, such as the University of Michigan Law Library, the Dr. Martin Luther King Library in San Jose, and the Duluth Public Library. The exhibition features photographs, sketches, and architectural models, highlighting Birkerts's distinctive use of light in his designs. The exhibition is created in cooperation with the NLL Foundation and the US Embassy in Latvia; authors — architects Jānis Dripe and Andris Kronbergs, graphic design by Tatjana Raičiņeca.
