Ekspozīcija “Rotko. No ģimenes kolekcijas” is an art exhibition in Daugavpils at the Rothko Museum on 23 April 2027. It introduces one of the most important artists of the 20th century and the interplay of colour and light in his work. Specially curated for the museum in close collaboration with the artist’s children, the selection covers every period of Rothko’s career: from early figurative and Surrealist-influenced works to multiform experiments and late “classic” colour-field compositions. The Rothko Museum in Daugavpils is the only place in Eastern Europe where Rothko’s original works can be viewed permanently.
