“Astainie līdzgaitnieki. Teodora Zaļkalna animālijas” is an art exhibition in Sigulda at Turaida Museum Reserve on 14 July 2027. It presents nine animal sculptures by Teodors Zaļkalns from the collection of the Latvian National Museum of Art, including “Cat”, “Lamb”, “Hare”, “Mouse” and several versions of the artist’s pig motif. The works are shown in bronze, granite and porcelain. The exhibition was created in cooperation between Turaida Museum Reserve, the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Latvian National Museum of Writing and Music. Its atmosphere is complemented by the song “Pelēkas kā snaudā”, with music by Alfrēds Kalniņš and lyrics by Teodors Zaļkalns. The exhibition marks the sculptor’s 150th birthday.
