Tikšanās un tulkošanas darbnīca ar Māru Poļakovu “Radi, tulko, atdzejo” is an educational event for young people in Sigulda, held at Sigulda County Library on 11 November 2026 at 11:30. Translator Māra Poļakova will discuss the translator’s mission, how far a translator may intervene in an author’s language, and what to do with difficult-to-translate expressions. Participants will also learn about her work translating from German, English, Ancient Greek, Latin, Yiddish, Hebrew and Ukrainian. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, she has actively translated books, articles, reports, speeches and interviews from Ukrainian.
