“Sila ezera nolaišana” is a theatre production in Rīga at Nacionālais teātris, running from 30 October to 12 December 2026. Based on a play by Jānis Poruks, the production centres on draining Druviena’s Lake Sila to gain land for grain and the resulting clash between human actions and nature. The Forest Father and the Lake Mother reject what people have done, while Sīmanis and Maija’s relationship unfolds against this wider conflict. Director Mārcis Broks expands the theatrical confrontation into a struggle between people and natural forces. The cast includes Kārlis Reijers, Ilze Reknere, Bruno Bitenieks, Ivars Puga, Juris Hiršs and Līga Zeļģe. Address: Kronvalda bulvāris 2, Rīga.
