
At the traditional Christmas market in Old Riga, visitors can enjoy the scents of mulled wine, cinnamon, ginger, and roasted almonds. The market features Santa’s house, entertainment from elves, and an opportunity for children to send letters to Lapland. On Fridays, a DJ plays music; on Saturdays, choirs and musical ensembles perform; on Sundays, there is folk music. Food vendors serve special winter cocktails, sweets, street food, and classic Latvian dishes. Local artisans offer beeswax candles, various creative kits, knotting supplies, candle-making kits, as well as traditional gifts such as gingerbread, wool socks, and mittens.
