
Praktiskas mācības un sarunas “Vecie koki – vērtīga ainavas daļa” is an educational event in Sigulda at Turaida Museum Reserve on 28 October 2026. It begins at 13:30 and takes place outdoors in the forest park. Dendrologist and arborist Gvido Leiburgs will discuss the care of veteran and notable trees, seeking a balance between biodiversity, landscape aesthetics and public safety. Ilze Locāne will introduce the diversity of Turaida Forest Park and the museum’s experience in maintaining old trees. Participants will examine specific trees, their growing conditions and management situations, and discuss their importance in the landscape and as habitat for the hermit beetle. The session is intended for park owners, managers, conservation practitioners and other interested people. Wear weather-appropriate clothing. Address: Turaidas iela 10, Sigulda.
