On September 18, Latvian Orienteering Night celebrates its anniversary in Ogre region, with competitions held simultaneously in two cities—Ikšķile and Lielvārde. Ikšķile's event center will be at Ikšķile Secondary School (Skolas iela 2), while in Lielvārde it will be at Lāčplēsis Square. Participants can choose either location. The event follows a three-hour rogaine format for teams of 2–5, planning their own routes using maps with checkpoints. The event is suitable for experienced orienteers, beginners, families, and groups of friends or colleagues. Categories include OPEN, women’s, family, and veteran teams. The schedule at both locations: from 18:30 – bib pickup, from 19:00 – map distribution, at 20:00 – mass start, at 23:00 – finish, and around 23:15 – awards. Teams will register checkpoints using the QREvented app, so a charged smartphone is required. As the event takes place at night, bring reflectors and flashlights. Participation is free.
