Tiešsaistes lekcija "Skandināvu (ziemeļu) impresionisms" is an online lecture via ZOOM live stream on 26 October 2026. It explores how Scandinavian Impressionism adopted the French plein-air technique and combined it with the harsh, quiet and melancholic nature of the North. The lecture focuses on gentle twilight, white nights, the low northern sun and diffused radiance, as well as cooler, more muted and subtler colours. It also considers feelings of peace, solitude and contemplation, a deep connection with nature, and recurring subjects including seascapes, beaches, snowy or rainy scenes, and simple fishing or village life.
