
Skaņu Mežs is the largest festival of unconventional, experimental and avant-garde music in the Baltics, held in Riga since 2003. The festival showcases developments in contemporary music and provides an insight into the history of 20th-century music. The lineup covers a wide range of genres, from hip-hop, metal and hyperpop to noise, free improvisation and contemporary composition. Headlining this year's event are black metal group Krallice, German electronic music artist Gudrun Gut, the duo of producer Infinity Knives and rapper Brian Ennals, British producer and vocalist aya, minimalist composer Charlemagne Palestine with guitarist Oren Ambarchi, and a free improvisation trio featuring Daniel O’Sullivan, Michael Foster, Leila Bordreuil, and Chris Corsano.
